Liposuction or Lipodissolve?

By: Eric Minden

For many women, looking the way they did when they were twenty-five is a must
and if they don't look like this they don't want anyone to look like this.
This is the reason many women turn to surgery, so they will be able to look
like younger than they actually are.

Liposuction is one surgery women will have done, this is the process of
removing unwanted fat from their bodies. This can be done as an out patient
procedure, in which the procedure is done and the patient is sent home when
finished. This procedure has been approved by the Federal Drug Administration
and there are doctors who have been doing this procedure for years.

Like with any medical procedure there are risks involved, many times these
risks include reactions to the anesthesia and infection around the injection
site. Although, there are risks involved the excess fat will be gone.

Another procedure is lipodissolve, in which a specialist will inject a chemical
into the area in which the patient feels there is too much fat. The chemical
then dissolves the fat, thus making the patient feel better about themselves.
However, this procedure is meant to make the fat dissolve not to destroy the
fat, thus letting the fat move freely in the blood stream. This procedure has
not been approved by the Federal Drug Administration because of risk of having
the fat in the blood stream.

Also, the chemical used for the injection does not have a set amount that should
be used at any one time. Meaning, if the first injection does not help the doctor
will be able to inject more to that same site. This can be a problem for the
patient especially if you have sensitive skin. If that is the case, you should
not have this procedure done at all as it will only make things worse.
Some patients have experienced damaged nerves around the injection site.

If you are looking for a procedure that will eliminate the fatty deposits on
your midsection, hips, or thighs, be sure you know what you are doing before
you make your final decision. There have not been enough studies done to show
the pros and cons of lipodissolve, therefore, if you should choose this, be
careful and know the risks involved.
