Two of the most common issues in network marketing are 'retention' and 'motivation'. In other words, once you've built a good downline, how do you keep them motivated to stay in and work the program? The last thing you want is an unmotivated, lazy downline. Success in any MLM is built on interdependent relationships. You depend on your downline's performance, as it is directly tied to your profits. It is also essential for you to train your associates well for business profits. This is always indispensable in any networking business. Clearly, your recruits are willing to generate better earnings, however if they lack the direction, the results may be dim. So, in large part, motivation rests on training your downline. This means giving them real skills that will lead to measurable results. What type of skills do they need? This depends on their experience level. One of the first things you should do is survey your downline to find out what they're up against. Some of them may be totally new to multi-level-marketing. In response, you need to give them an easy-to-follow marketing system. This should be a step-by-step system that covers lead generation, follow-up and conversion. Those are the three most important elements in marketing any MLM. This marketing scheme needs to be shown to your downline in the clearest way possible for them to learn the same strategies you have used for successful marketing outcomes. You can normally expect your salespeople to obtain excellent outcomes after this platform training. However, you must motivate your people to achieve the best that they can, and not to settle for middle ground or mediocrity. Not everyone is as driven or motivated as desired. However, you can always turn things around by targeting their self-esteem. Take advantage of their need for the right incentives. As an example, you can include the name of a specific downline in your company newsletter or any publication that features exemplary performances. You might even want to find a way to reward them materially. For example, you could purchase a tool that will help them in their business -a course on copy writing, for example - and give it away free to the 'most improved' downline member. You can always explore better means eventually. In consequence, if you want to retain the best workforce, you need to view them as important aspects of your business. They need to feel appreciated and valued and you can make this evident through the right assistance and communication.
