Energy efficient tankless water heaters Tankless water heaters help to vastly reduce the cost of energy in heating. The tankless water heaters operate on a very simple and easy to understand basis. They are made such that the water flows through them. The distribution of hot water is monitored by a sensor which is known as the “flow sensor”. Once the water enters the heater, the “igniter” gets activated. The water is then transferred to the exchanger which processes the heat. The water will get heated to a preset temperature by the exchanger and deliver it to the tap from which you can obtain hot water. They require very little maintenance. Hence they are suitable for any place, any person and location. The can be easily handled by children also. The regular water heaters have the disadvantages of being too bulky, expensive to run and besides they seem to run out off hot water when you need them the most. If you need a continuous hot water supply, you will have to keep the heaters running on all the time, which will increase the utility costs. With the tankless water heaters you face none of these hassles. They operate out of a small box which can be attached to any wall. Your monthly energy bills will also be greatly reduced. Another major drawback of the traditional water heaters are that they can heat as much water that can fit the tank. When this water is used up it can take up to an hour for the water to heat up to the required temperature again. You can also attach it as a booster to the solar water heating system. The tankless water heaters can replace the normal waters almost anywhere. Their compact size makes them an added advantage. You save on water also because they eliminate on all kinds of standby losses. This method of water heating can lower your energy usage by almost 20%. Though they may cost marginally more than customary models, you will eventually end up saving more from the energy bills. They do not take up any floor space and can save up space in your house. A variety of tankless water heater models are available. You can go for the whole house heater if your house is small and compact or attach a smaller heater for a remote bathroom or hot tub. The tankless water heaters are rated according to the maximum flow rate at which a preferred temperature increase is met. The tankless water heaters can be divided into two categories the "full on/full off" and "modulated". They are highly durable and are designed to last for 20 years. Their popularity is increasing now due to increasing cost of electricity and gas. They are available in three different models – electric, natural gas, & propane. These heaters have maximum lengths that you can run the venting which can go either out a side wall with horizontal venting or up through the roof. They come with a warranty that covers the heat exchanger and the parts separately.
