Genealogy of the Royal House of Aragon The Royal House of Aragon, Majorca and Sicily stems from various genealogical backgrounds as mentioned on the website of the Military Order of the Collar (MOC). They are Aragon, Cassano, Carcaci, Biscari, and Guttadauro. The House of Aragon starts in 1213 with King James the First, the House of Cassano begins with Peter of Aragon, Carcaci starts with Giacinto from 1594, Biscari starts with Giovanni the Elder and the House of Guttadauro goes back to Enrico. The Grand Priory of MOC Terra Nordica is a part of the work maintained by the Royal House of Aragon, Majorca and Sicily, and in here you will find all the details about the order and what the various codes, rules, and descendents are. Their descendents today live in Catania in Sicily, but the military order of the collar still exists as it was eventually changed from being an honorary order to a dynastical one which was passed down from family member to family member. This is a very interesting part of history to learn about and to remember when you are studying it, or just want to visit the countries and areas like Majorca and Sicily. You will be able to understand the country better and enjoy the historic sites of importance as well. Most of the history you can learn from the official web site of the Military Order of the Collar of the House of Aragon, Majorca and Sicily. If you want to learn about your heritage and believe that you are part of the order, you can also become verified, and apply for verification. This process will allow the family generations to continue to uphold the order and heritage of the Grand Priory of MOC Terra Nordica as well as the main Militare Ordine del Collare of the House of Aragon, Majorca and Sicily. The 5 main branches and descendants are listed in detail on the website, so you will be able to find out where your family stands in the lineage. This Grand Order originally was a knightly association founded in 1288, and prominent men were knighted by the King Alfonso II in Minorca. The knight would then have to settle in the fortress of St. Agatha to guard the country against invaders. These men formed their own knighthood and probably had special uniforms and a coat of arms. This was confirmed in the accounts of the MOC set out in a manuscript in the 16th century and was eventually discovered by the Duke of Carcaci in 1851. It was from this point on that the Order was acknowledged and a lot of importance placed upon it once again. Today this Order has 4 Grand Priories in Europe and the Grand Priory of Terra Nordica contains all the members in Scandinavia. If you belong to the organization you can be ranked as follows: Knight or Dame, Knight or Dame with Grand Cross, Knight or Dame with Grand Cross with Collar and Knight or Dame with Grand Cross with Grand Collar.
