The review of telephone corporations

By: Mathew Petrenko

Are you sure that there are 60 seconds in a minute? But recently one of the IDT companies declared that lots of corporations, that provide calling cards, propose just 36 seconds instead of 60. Many world-known corporations declared that it can't be any fair rivalry if one of rivals has unjust advantages before the start of a rivalry. IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) company decided to sue the different corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards for the unjust competition circumstances on a phone services market.

IDT/UTA had alleged that dissimilar its proper calling cards, those of many of its competitors deliver just about 60 percent of the minutes of telephone services proposed and promoted on voice help heard by clients in connection with calls made by using the defendants' cards and advertised by such rivals on th TV, newspaper, poster, internet, or other medium. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have reached a full settlement of the suit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC against Total Call. That brings to four the number of accused groups which have settled the litigation commenced by IDT/UTA before, this year. Another settling accused companies today are Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and connected companies, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc. IDT/UTA's lawsuit against the remaining accused is still continuing in federal tribunal in Newark, New Jersey. Not long ago, one of softswitch developers released his new conditions of paying the phone facilities. This new method allows every user to determine the size of the minute that befits him the best, and the system would deduct units form the account and the client will have got an opportunity to check exactly how many minutes were deducted and how many remain. Moreover, they mentioned that it is standard on all calling card platforms. I didn't believe that it was true. But today when I found IDT communique, I realize that they are probably right.

So next time you see a international phone card for $20.00 with 2000 minutes and you realize that it is too brilliant to be true - it probably is! But remember to select the phone card properly, and be assured that you have the quantity of units which you pay for. Consumers will be given the units, they lost during the unjust practices, as a bonus. IDT/UTA hopes that if all the defendants agree with putting into operation the new rules, that will be good for them, as the judicial authority will try them more softly. To set up the level of paying field all the companies, that provide the telecommunication facilities should further the best practices and rules. They will try to make the systems for checking the capability of prepaid calling cards to give the quantity of minutes prescribed for private destinations. The contracting parties consented to promote the effective monitoring system open for everybody that would like to check the actions.
