What You Need To Know About The Boxer Dog

By: Jason Rusch

If you are thinking about getting a boxer dog and a purebred n particular then it would be wise to familiarize yourself with the breed standard. There is a kennel club in every country and in the US you will find the American Kennel Club or shortened to AKC in for most part of the Europe and for South America it is called as the Federacion Cynolgique Internationale or simply FCI. Every kennel club features their own system of registration where they issue the equivalent of the birth certificates. This would simply guarantee that the parents of the particular dog breed to who there is a certificate allocated also has a certificate. The only way any dog breed can have certificates is if their parents hold one.

Each and every registered dog from kennel club is also required to have registered ancestors which go back at least five generations. Therefore when you purchase a boxer dog breed you should guarantee that they come from a family that was breed to meet breed standards of the club. This means that there will not be blood from any other breed or any outcross being introduced to the mix right from the time of their great grandparents, meaning they are original or pure boxer dogs.

This makes each breed individually recognizable as a unique and a distinct breed. This also tells you why the boxer dog is very different as it was breed from English Bulldogs and German Bullenbeisser to make this perfect boxer dog breed. The high standards of the breed also give prospective boxer dog owners the idea of what they can expect from their boxer dogs both in their behavior and appearance. Although it is one basic think to have a memory picture of how the boxer dog companions should look it is also important you have a clear idea as to what laving wit the boxer dogs can be like.

This breed standard is also an ideal one as boxer dogs right from the time thy had first seen in Germany where they wanted that a boxer dog should be fiercely protective and fearless although at the same time being intelligent, friendly, eager to please and willing to learn. However if the boxer dog lacks any of these qualities then they lack the standard boxer dog qualities to make a perfect boxer breed.

Apart from this you should also find out that an individual boxer dog should also meet the physical standards that are desired for the breed. The physical boxer dog breed standards include the balanced muscular torso and the unique square type head which are though easily judged. Apart from this the temperament even in a boxer dog puppy which is born to the dog purple should be nurtured. The responsible boxer breeder will offer you a boxer puppy that is bred for a stable temperament but it is your duty to lovingly train and socialize the boxer dog puppy.
