Most of the people I meet in the Greater Toronto Area seem to have originally moved here from other cities; there are lots of native Torontonians, to be sure, but a lot of people seem to be what we call “transplanted Torontonians”. One the truisms about transplanted Torontonians seems to be that for years after they end up living in the same area that they originally settled in. And where you settle may depend on where you came from. I moved here from Montreal, and ended up living in the east end, in Scarborough, for many years. Many of my friends moved here from Windsor and London, and became west-enders. Is this a coincidence or not? I am not entirely sure, but I have come to conclude that the geographical area you come from may play a part in where you land here. If you are coming from Montreal or Kingston or somewhere else east, you may end up in the east, perhaps in Durham Region. If you are planning to settle in the east, you might consider purchasing condominiums Pickering or townhomes Pickering. Why choose Pickering? Well, there are certain advantages to living in or near this city. For one thing, you are in an area where housing is relatively affordable, compared to many other areas of the GTA. There is lots of space too, which means that you might be able to procure some prime real estate, with some decent acreage. If you purchase lake view condos Pickering you might be able to find a picturesque area on the border of Lake Ontario. Buying a downtown condos Pickering could leave you closer to amenities such as shops and stores, restaurants, auto service stations and even the Metropolitan Zoo, a favourite destination for families and tourists alike. Areas such as Oshawa, Ajax, Whitby and Pickering are actually surrounded by a lot of pretty green land, with lots of trees, particularly picturesque in the spring and summer. And you are on the cusp of the unbridled beauty of Durham Region; as you travel up to Peterborough, through Lindsay and the Lake Scugog area you will be enthralled by the breathtaking natural beauty and by the various, rich green forests and picnic areas. There are great water activities available up that way, from water skiing to boating to fishing. You are much closer to all of this, of course, if you live in the east end of the GTA. When you purchase living condominiums GTA, then, you have to consider a basic question: do I settle in the east or do I settle in the West? Where you come from is a determinant of this, of course, but it may not be the determining factor. I will say this, however; I have always found the people in Ajax and Pickering very friendly. I should know because I used to do a lot of business there. You may be very pleasantly surprised by the warm reception your family and you would receive in neighbourhood communities Pickering, but then again they always seem warmer out in the countryside.
